UVA President Resigns


Charlottesville, VA - Governor Bob McDonnell is extending his gratitude to University of Virginia President Teresa Sullivan for her short tenure. McDonnell issued his statement Sunday, less than two hours after U.Va.'s Board of Visitors announced Sullivan's departure.  Sullivan and the board say the decision is mutual. She was inaugurated as U.Va.'s first female president in 2010. McDonnell says Sullivan fulfilled her duties with "honor [and] energy" Sullivan's resignation is effective August 15.
