Lynchburg, VA - Lynchburg City Schools has received an extra $325,000 in the form of an unexpected settlement.
The school district was part of a 2001 class action against Beazor East Incorporated. It had to do with a foam used in the Heritage High School roof that could cause metal corrosion.
But unlike most plaintiffs, LCS could never prove any damage. When wrapping up the lawsuit, Beazor decided to settle with the property owners with no damage, as long as they wouldn't hold the company responsible.
On Tuesday's city council agenda, members will consider a resolution to add this extra money to the school system's 2012 budget.
