Lynchburg, VA- A new basketball boarding school is coming to the Hill City. The Genesis Academy Gifted Athletes Program will recruit high school-aged male basketball players.

The athletes will train with skilled coaches and study at the boarding school. Players will get to participate in leadership training, character development and community service. The students will live and practice at the Presbyterian Homes and Family Services and Family Alliance.

"We are very excited about Genesis Academy finding a home on our campus. Presbyterian Homes has been home to thousands of kids over the years and many of them have been terrific athletes," said Bob Dendy, president of PHFSFA.

"With the training they will receive here, and the academic background they will receive, they will able to step into the world and be impactful in whatever magnitude they decide to go," said Harry Williams, president of the Genesis Academy Gifted Athletes Program.

This partnership will also create some new jobs. The Genesis Academy is currently looking for teachers, dorm parents and trainers.
