Update:Roads Closed After Accident in Lynchburg


Update:12:35 a.m.--A collision sent two women to the hospital Tuesday night in Lynchburg. The accident closed west-bound Fort Avenue for about an hour. The collision happened shortly before 7-tonight at the intersection of Fort and Graves Mill Road.

Police say 19-year Nicole Stewart was heading west on Fort, when 65-year-old Maggie Chandler crossed into her path coming off the Expressway. The impact knocked Chandler's car upside down. Crews took her to Lynchburg General Hospital. Stewart also went to the hospital. No word on the severity of their injuries.
Lynchburg, VA - Police are on the scene of a car accident on Fort Avenue in Lynchburg after a vehicle overturned.


Officials say both westbound and eastbound lanes are blocked by the 6200 block of Fort Avenue by Graves Mills Road.

Avoid the area if you can.
