Lynchburg, VA - If you have made it to the Lynchburg Community Market the past couple Wednesdays you may have noticed the lack of vendors there for Green Market Wednesday.
Market Managers say not to worry because there will be a lot more in the next couple weeks. The reason there are so many open spaces right now is farmers have not produced enough this early in the season.
"In the next few weeks you will see a lot of people returning once the peaches, the nectarines, the tomatoes, everything starts coming in. Then you'll really start to see the green market flourish," said Jennifer Kennedy, market manager at Lynchburg Community Market.
Wednesday is a producers market only, meaning the community really gets a chance to get to know their local farmers and where their food is coming from. When all is said and done, there will be about 20 farmers total.
Green Market Wednesday is from 10 a.m to 2 p.m.
