Lynchburg - After clinching the Northern Division first-half title with a doubleheader sweep Tuesday night, the Hillcats had their five-game win streak snapped Wednesday night by Carolina, the Mudcats winning 7-2.
Edward Salcedo's rbi double in the first gave Lynchburg a 1-0 lead. But the lead didn't last long as Carolina's Anthony Gallas smacked a two-run homer in the top of the second to make it 2-1 Mudcats.
Braeden Schlehuber homered in the fourth for Lynchburg to tie the game at 2.
It was still 2-2 until the sixth when Carolina broke loose for three runs. The Mudcats tacked on two more in the seventh, scoring the final five runs of the game to win 7-2.
The Hillcats complete the first half of the season on the road with a four-game series at Frederick beginning Thursday night.
