Danville, VA- A young woman on the Southside is making her mark on the local art scene.
Elizabeth Cassada, 22, grew up in the Mount Hermon area, graduated from Chatham High School and most recently received graduated with an arts degree from Stamford University in Birmingham, AL.
Friday night, she held her first area art show at the Danvillian Gallery.
Her style varies from integrating magazine clippings to express a glutinous society to the use of modeling paste for her 3D wedding cake.
"As soon as I could pick up a pencil, I don't remember not drawing, I remember scribbling in Church bulletins and just any kind of little pieces of paper that I could get my hands on so I've always been sketching" said Cassada.
Cassada's work will be displayed at The Danvillian Gallery though mid-July.
