Fisher Extends Lead to 7 at CVIGT

Round two of the Central Virginia Invitational Golf Tournament shifted to Falling River Country Club in Appomattox.  Lynchburg's Lee Fisher brought a two-shot lead into Saturday's 18.

Action at 16, Brian Stanley of Forest chips up to just a couple of feet away to save his par, Stanley shot a 2-over 74 today.
Chuck Brewer fired a 4-under 32 on the front, but hit some trouble on the back, settling for even par 72.
Altavista's Scott Hutcherson had his putter working, holing the birdie at 17, he shot 72.
16-year-old Clayton Forren, a rising senior at Rustburg, began the day two shots back.  Forren hits a great third shot at the par-5 18th, nearly holing out for eagle.  The tap-in birdie gives him 72 for the day, 3-under for the tournament.
Everybody, though, is still chasing Lee Fisher.  The two-time defending champ followed up Friday's 5-under round with another 5-under effort Saturday, including a birdie on the final hole.  Fisher is 10-under and takes a 7-shot lead into Sunday's final 18 at Ivy Hill.

Lee Fisher, CVIGT LEADER AT -10, said "Tomorrow I'm just gonna play my game and hit the ball down the middle at Ivy and see what the putter can do again.  And if we shoot a good score tomorrow, we'll just let someone catch me."

Clayton Forren, -3 FOR TOURNEY (TRAILS FISHER BY 7), said "Golf is crazy, so if Fisher sees somebody shoot something really low, nerves are funny.  So he might feel a little pressure, that's all I can do is put some pressure on him."
