Lynchburg, VA - A local soldier reunited with his family for Father's Day. He'd been away getting treatment in the VA in Salem for several weeks. For Father's Day he got to spend a little time with his wife and two boys,
You may remember the name Staff Sergeant Jason Frantz in a story told you about a few days ago. On Friday, about 20 men and women with the local army recruiting company, cleaned up his yard. His wife had been trying to do all the work herself when these good samaritans stepped in to help.
So this weekend Frantz came home to a spruced up yard for he and his two boys to play some football. He was only allowed a short break so we didn't get to see him.
But we did talk to him on the phone to see what he thought about his new yard.
"It was awesome! It was the first time I walked out with bare feet since I was like 6, I don't know what to say honestly I would say thank you but honestly I don't thank that's enough gratitude," said SSG Jason Frantz.
Frantz says he would have done the same thing for another family in the service. He is already back at the V-A for treatment and will hopefully be back home for good by the end of the month.
