Charlottesville, VA - University of Virginia officials say the second-highest ranking member of the Board of Visitors resigned Tuesday afternoon.
In a letter to Governor Bob McDonell, Mark Kington says he hopes his resignation would begin a needed healing process.
Earlier Tuesday, board of visitors member Heyward Fralin said he would have voted to reinstate President Teresa Sullivan. He released a statement about his vote and the board's decision to elect an interim president.
