The Danville Braves began their Appalachian League season on a positive note Tuesday night, beating the Elizabethton Twins 7-5.
Bottom of the 2nd, one out, Felix Marte singles on a line drive to right bringing in Nick DeSantiago for the early lead.
Later in the inning, it's Levi Hyams with the sac fly to center, that plates Marte, D-Braves increase their lead to 2-0.
Next inning, Braves pitcher Mauricio Cabrera walks Rory Rhodes with the bases loaded, forcing in a run. But Danville gets out of the inning without allowing another, Braves hanging on to a 2-1 advantage.
Hyams drives in his second run of the night with another sac fly in the fourth.
The Braves later score three in the seventh and hold on to win their opener 7-5.
