Henry Co., VA - Hundreds of high paying jobs could be coming to the Southside.
The New College Institute in Henry County and Virginia State University have announced a new advanced manufacturing program that could bring jobs to the area.
They say the idea has been tossed around for a while and after the program is developed, it could attract more high-tech companies to the area.
"Manufacturing as the community knew it will not be back as we knew it. But what we do know is that advanced manufacturing in the future has a promise to create jobs," said William C. Wampler Jr., executive director of New College Institute.
They also say the average pay for one of the advanced manufacturing jobs is between $40,000 - $50,000 a year.
