Campbell Co., VA - Campbell County's Adult Detention Center is about to undergo some major construction. All 125 inmates have been moved to Amherst County.
Starting in July, the majority of the roof and HVAC equipment will be replaced. Right now, the current AC units are on the roof and have been causing leaks. People who work there are relieved it's being fixed.
"Really excited about another project and I'm proud of the fact that our board decided to replace the roof. I think it was a pertinent decision and one that will serve the tax payers well," said Elton Blackstock, administrator for Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority.
The contract for the project will cost more than $1 million and should be finished in January of next year.
