Supervisors Vote Down Payment of Comprehensive Services Funding
Chatham, VA - The Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors has reversed its last decision and now says the school system owes $2.5 million to the state.
Tuesday night, the board voted down a recommendation by their finance committee to split the cost of the Comprehensive Services Act. The state says someone needs to pay for county students who were wrongfully instructed under those services.
The board says the school system decides who gets the instruction and needs to be the one who pays.
