Danville, VA - Danville Parks and Recreation is once again helping local kids beat the summer heat.

Every weekday thru the end of August the Fun Wagon stops by neighborhoods throughout Danville to give kids a fun way to cool off.

Parks and Rec employees hook sprinklers up to fire hydrants using a high pressure hose. They say the kids love it, especially after how hot it's been the last two days.

The Fun Wagon also provides the community with a free alternative for summer fun.

"The city of Danville does not have a public pool and this gives them an opportunity to be able to play, come out get wet, and spend time in the water with their friends," said Matt Bell, program supervisor.

If you'd like the Fun Wagon to stop by your neighborhood, you can call the Parks and Rec Department at 434-799-5200.
