Concessions May Be Coming to Lynchburg Parks

Lynchburg, VA - The Lynchburg Parks and Recreation Department is taking applications from vendors who want to operate mobile concession stands.

Officials say they're gotten enough input from citizens suggesting the idea.

They'd like to offer the vending at the Blackwater Creek Athletic Area, Hollins Mill Park, Ivy Creek Park, Percival's Isle and Riverside Park.

"I think people will enjoy having the chance to not have to drive to go somewhere to get some food but get something right there in the park and spend some quality time with some friends," said Andy Reeder with the department.

Vendors will need to apply for a $50 permit, and they'll be awarded on a limited basis depending on space availability, menu and product quality.
