Brosville, VA- The price of oil is steadily dropping and on Friday prices hit an eight month low. Out in Brosville three service stations have begun a "Gas War."

On Thursday, they each started lowering their gas prices. By the end of the day, they all were below $3 a gallon, and on Friday afternoon they had dropped a few cents more.

Drivers were thrilled at the lower prices which are at least 10 to 15 cents cheaper than some of Danville's prices and way lower that North Carolina's.

"I was on empty yesterday in town, and I was like, 'You know what? I'm just gonna drive all the way out here to get gas for $2.95 cause it's gonna save me like $10,'" said Tabitha Candice Vaughan, an Axton resident.

"This is the cheapest I've seen so far, if I lived in VA. I tell ya, I'd keep cans of gas in my truck" said Thomas Fortner from Burlington N.C.

Experts say it's not unusual for oil prices to drop in the summer just in time for vacation excursions.
