Danville, VA- Beginning July 1st both Public Libraries in Danville will increase their Non-City resident fees.
City Manager Joe King proposed the increase in fees as part of the budget for Fiscal Year 2013, and City Council adopted that budget on May 30th.
Non-city residents will now be charged a library card fee of $50 for an annual household membership, and $25 for a six month household membership.
Also on July first, all Danville library patrons will be issued new cards.
This process will require patrons to verify their address and information, and they must match.
Also due to the new budget, the library on Patton Street will cut its operating hours.
