
Lynchburg, VA- The Myrtle Beach Pelicans snapped the Lynchburg Hillcats' seven game winning streak. The streak was the longest since 2005 when the 'Cats won eight in a row two separate times. The Pelicans offense was powered by Brett Nicholas with the highlight being his three-run homer in a four-run first inning. It was rare struggles for Gus Schlosser as he fought to complete six innings. He allowed five runs off of six hits.
The four-game series continues tomorrow at 7:05pm. The stadium gates will open at 6:00pm. J.R. Graham (8-1, 2.53) will look for his league leading ninth win in 2012. The Pelicans will send former first round pick Luke Jackson (0-0, --) to the mound in his first start in High-A.
