Pulaski Co., VA - A swimmer drowned and another was rescued at Claytor Lake State Park Monday.
Authorities say lifeguards noticed two swimmers in distress around 4:00 p.m. Monday. A lifeguard was able to rescue one of the swimmers, but another disappeared and was found 10 minutes later. Conservation officials say attempts to resuscitate the victim were not successful.
The victim is a 20-year-old Hispanic man - he has not been identified. The beach at Claytor Lake will be closed Tuesday.
