Danville, VA -- The New College Institute and Danville Community College are teaming up to grow their work-force training programs.
DCC says they see 100 % placement for their program graduates, and they have a wait list to get in. So starting this fall, they are doubling their entrance to 50 students. They say with this expansion, they are hoping to potentially bring in new companies that can use their graduates. They also expect local companies to continue to hire from the Southside.
DCC says that these students gain training that can help them find a job here and throughout the Commonwealth.
"A lot of our graduates are hired locally. And so by having additionally graduates we can do our part in meeting those needs," said Christopher Ezell, Academic and Student Services VP for DCC.
DCC hopes that down the road they will be able to build another facility for their training so they can continue to expand.
