Lynchburg, VA - A Madison Heights couple won $100,000 from The Money Game in Virginia's lottery.
It's one of dozens of scratcher games with prizes ranging from $5 to $100,000.
David Staton picked his winning ticket up at a gas station in Fluvanna County. The next day, he was scheduled for a heart procedure. His wife Donna claimed the prize, which she says will help cover both of their medical bills.
"We're just ordinary every day working people and that's a true blessing and if you don't see it for what it is and use it for the way God intended, if you don't, it doesn't do you any good," said Donna Staton.
The Statons are the first winners of The Money Game's top $100,000 prize. Four of those top prizes are still unclaimed.
