LYNCHBURG - Arguably the area's best high school baseball player has decided where he'll play college ball. E.C. Glass shortstop/pitcher Nygeal Andrews will sign with Radford. "I really liked Longwood. It was nice but the thing that did it for me I have to say is the coaches at Radford. They definitely sold it well to me. Coach Raccuia, he took the time out himself to show me around the campus. I was talking to him and he was critiquing me to my face and he just got me right on the spot," Andrews said.
This past season, Andrews hit .529 with 8 homers and 31 RBIs. He also went 7-and-3 with a 1.87 ERA on the mound.
Radford will play him at shortstop and could utilize his pitching skills out of the bullpen as a late-inning reliever.
