Danville, VA- A homemade quilt with over 2,000 Dan River fabric swatches will soon have a new home.
A labor of love project that began on July 16 of last year was finished just a couple of weeks ago by two local ladies named Carol and Dot Handy.
This is a recreation of the original which was made around 1982 for Dan River's centennial.
It's a full size and the squares measure at two and a half inches.
The Schoolfield Preservation Foundation says tickets are only five dollars apiece and this would make a great family heirloom loaded with history.
The quilt will be raffled off at noon on July 4 at the Schoolfield Museum, contact Dot Handy at 434-792-6763.
