
Bedford County, VA - Two people are confirmed dead in Bedford County after a house fire Friday night. Fire officials say weather is likely to blame.
It happened on Edmund Street and right now the victims' identities are not being released pending notification of the family.
The storm did quite a bit of damage.
Storms that knocked out power to hundreds of thousands here in Virginia.
Most of you already know …. It was 9 p.m. last night when the worst of the
Winds hit. The storm blew down trees, and toppled power lines. This
morning before you go out, you need to be aware….there are many roads
and highways still blocked by storm debris. Even worse, many homes are
damaged by trees that fell. Winds were clocked at more than 75 miles per
hour.
Of course, all of this came at the end of a day when temperatures hit 103 degrees in the Lynchburg area.
Close to half of Apco's customers in Virginia were without power overnight.
That's 233-thousand in our state alone.
