A man who never resurfaced after jumping from a pontoon boat early Saturday morning was found Sunday night.

21-year-old Jimmie Barnett's body was found around 11:30 p.m. in Fort Gibson Lake.

A representative from the Army Corp of Engineers told KTUL.com that Jimmie had jumped from the drifting boat in an area of Fort Gibson Lake called Ear Bob Ferry, also near Fun Island at 12:00 a.m. Saturday.

Jimmie tried to swim back to the boat but was unable to reach it. He went under and never resurfaced.

Family members and authorities searched for the man throughout the weekend but found his body Sunday night before the search was about to end for the day.
