Lynchburg,VA - Lynchburg City officials held a press conference Sunday morning to help update the public.
They urged residents to just help one another, especially any elderly neighbors you may have.
They also stressed the importance of making sure that if you had any appliances on when you lost power, to make sure those are turned off so that when you regain power they don't cause a fire.
"Were working 24/7 around the clock, trying to restore what we can...so were encouraging you to just hang in there," said Lynchburg Mayor Joan Foster.
It's also important to use extra caution when traveling around within the city as many roads are still blocked.
