Broken Arrow -

A family was honored Tuesday night for their assistance in locating a trapped car wreck victim.

On May 13th, Gary and Melissa Davis and their two sons were at McAuliffe Elementary School when the boys heard a lady screaming.

They could not see anyone but could hear the cries for help.

They placed a call to 911, and the officers located Pamela Brakhage behind the storage buildings at the far north end of 115th Street South.

Her arm was trapped under her vehicle in water, and she had been there for about two hours.

The Broken Arrow Fire Department was also on the scene and was able to move the vehicle, release her arm, and then transport her to the hospital.

Without the assistance of the Davis family, there would have been no way of knowing how long Ms. Brakhage would have been trapped or what her condition would have been before someone located her.

"The family who rescued me is absolutely amazing because they were there," said Brakhage. "The boys were my angels."

The Broken Arrow City Council presented certificates of commendation to the Davis family at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall at 220 South 1st Street in Broken Arrow.
