Lynchburg, VA - The storm has been really bad timing for the landfill in Lynchburg.
This weekend, the regional landfill is scheduled to move, and this has been one of the busiest weeks in quite a while. Right now, the landfill is at the Concord Turnpike location. This weekend, it will move to the Livestock Road site in Campbell County.
Tuesday, the amount of customers about doubled. Wednesday, the landfill stayed open on the holiday to accommodate all the people.
"We gotta work, but we decided to be open and do everything we can to serve the city of Lynchburg and be open for them for their citizens to be able to get this mess cleaned up," said Larry Hall, operations manager, landfill.
The city has temporarily dropped its cap on how much garbage you can drop off before getting charged.
