Danville, VA - A local attorney in Danville has come up with a great idea for tourism in the city.
After traveling to Boston with his wife and children, R. J. Lackey noticed how they promoted their tourism, and he wants to bring the concept to Danville's River District with a free "Heritage Walking Tour."
His ideas are still in the infancy stages, and he'd like to see some of the tobacco leaf markers that are already made set in the pavement to guide folks along the tour.
"There are probably 14 or 15 historic markers already in place, so you are adding another 5 to 8 to get it but the best part is when it's complete is the best question, it can continue to grow," said Lackey.
Since the River District project has already planned to redo the sidewalks he hopes the tobacco leaf markers can be dropped in for little or no cost.
