Danville, VA- The Downtowner Hotel in Danville is finally on its way down.
Officials say the process will take about six days as a wrecking crew uses a piece of equipment called a "Muncher" with a 95 foot arm that will bring the building down floor by floor.
This also means traffic detours in the downtown area for the next week.
You can expect detours on Main, Union, Spring Ridge and Floyd Streets until the demolition is completed.
