Danville, VA- A group that we told you about last week that helped high school students build computers at Danville Community College has received a sizeable grant.
The Hughes Memorial Foundation has awarded a $20,000 grant to the Danville Church Based Tutorial Program so they can purchase brand new computers.
The program serves youth most at risk for academic or social failure.
They currently operate 26 sites in the city and specialize in STEM education- Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
All sites operate two to four days per week.
They are also taking bids for companies who would like their computers purchased with the grant money.
