Lynchburg - Wilmington blasted four homers and needed an extra inning to beat Lynchburg 6-5 Friday night, snapping the Hillcats' winning streak at four games.
Unlike the previous two nights, Wilmington took an early lead only for the Hillcats to wipe out the 2-0 margin by piling up four runs in the fourth. It was still 5-3 Lynchburg until the Blue Rocks scored one in the seventh and eighth to force the game to the 10th. Wilmington's Lane Adams then belted his second solo homer of the game to put the Blue Rocks on top and Wilmington made the lead stand. Tommy La Stella, Adam Milligan, Edward Salcedo and Braeden Schlehuber all had two hits for the Hillcats, who now hit the road to Winston-Salem for a three-game series.
