Kids & Pros Camp Kicks off in Lynchburg

The second-annual Lynchburg Kids & Pros Camp began Monday night and continues through Thursday at Lynchburg City Stadium.

The camp, headed up by former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Buddy Curry, runs each night from 6 'til 9.   Despite the rain Monday afternoon, 140 kids, ages 7 through 13, came out for night one, Curry says he expects more as the week goes on.

Kids & Pros focuses on teaching football fundamentals and life skills, like respect and working with others.  And the camp features some great instructors, including current Jacksonville Jaguar receiver Mike Brown,  former NFL player Jake Grove, another former Hokie Andre Kendrick and plenty of area coaches, Brad Bradley of Heritage, Ben Martin of E.C. Glass and LCA's Richard Trent to name just a few.

Buddy Curry, KIDS & PRO FOOTBALL CAMP DIRECTOR, said "People don't care what you know until they know that you care.  And when you're passionate about kids and they understand that you want them to get better and you want them to gain confidence by executing drills, then you can be tough with them.  And then you can challenge them, and then a lot of times they raise their level to the challenge."
