Sunday Fire in Danville Ruled Arson

Danville, VA - A house fire in Danville Sunday night has been ruled arson.

Crews arrived at 316 Bellevue Street around 11 p.m. and found piles of rags on fire behind the abandoned house.

The house wasn't damaged, and they were able to get the fire out quickly.

They say someone set the blaze and then ran off.

"There are no other causes that could have caused that fire. There was no electric hooked too it, there was no gas there, no one lived there and just a pile of rags. Someone had to go up and intentionally set these rags of fire," said Shelby Irving, fire marshal.

If you think you know who might have done this, call Danville Crime Stoppers at (434) 793-0000.
