Two UVa swimmers will compete for the U.S. in the upcoming Olympic Games in London.
Rising senior Lauren Perdue made the 800-meter free relay team, Perdue is a 12-time All-American and 17-time ACC champion as well as the ACC record holder in the 200-yard freestyle. Former Cavs swimmer Matt McLean was added to the 800-meter freestyle relay, he was the ACC Swimmer of the Year in 2008, 9 and 11.
Lauren Perdue, U.S. 800-METER FREE RELAY TEAM, said "This is a dream come true for me. I've been dreaming of this since I was eight years old, so to actually be able to realize this dream of mine is incredible. And I could not be more proud of my country and of UVa and representing both of these amazing aspects of my life."
