Danville, VA- A group of Bikers called the "Hope Riders" help a needy child once a year. On Saturday morning in Danville they hit the road for little Maddie Davis.

It's called the "Poker Run." They traveled 68 miles, made a few stops in between, and then headed back to Danville.

In May, 11-month-old Maddie was diagnosed with Krabbe, a rare genetic brain disease. Doctors at Duke said she may not survive but a few more months.

Parents Jake and Kathy found a specialist in Pittsburg that said she would probably live to be at least three or five years old.

They noticed a change in Maddie around seven months old.

"She started to regress she would not sit up by herself. She got to where she would not hold her head up, she wasn't crawling she wasn't doing anything normal that a seven month old would do" said her mother, Kathy Davis.

Maddie's treatments and trips to Pittsburgh are very expensive. All funds raised by the Hope Riders will go directly to her family.
