Update Monday 12:15 p.m.:
Lynchburg, VA - ER officials tell Lynchburg police that all the victims involved in a car accident Sunday afternoon are expected to fully recover.
Officials say none of the injuries in the patients listed as in critical condition are life-threatening.
Some of the victims are expected to undergo surgery Monday.
Update 5:20 p.m.:
Lynchburg, VA - Four people are in critical condition after a two-car collision on Boonsboro Road Sunday afternoon.
Officials with the Lynchburg Police Department say the driver of a Buick Century was traveling north on Boonsboro Road when he crossed the center lane and hit a Ford Windstar van traveling south head-on.
Seven people were taken to the hospital.
The driver of the Buick, Milton Brown, 75, is in critical condition. His 16-year-old passenger is in stable condition.
Driver of the van Kim Hartless, 37, is in stable condition. Passengers John Hartless, 39, and Jacob Hartless, 18, are both in critical condition. A 5-year-old boy riding in a car seat is in critical condition and has been airlifted to University of Virginia for treatment. Another 17-year-old passenger is in stable condition.
Lynchburg, VA- A car accident on Boonsboro Rd. in Lynchburg sent seven people to the hospital.
It happened around 2:15 Sunday afternoon. The accident involved two vehicles. Police are still investigating the cause.
Seven people ranging in age from five to 75 were sent to the hospital, some with critical injuries. One person needed CPR at the scene of the accident.
Boonsboro Rd. will be open to one lane in each direction at the 5100 block. Police will be directing traffic for the next several hours.
