Danville, VA - Danville Fire Department fought a house fire on Brooke Circle Monday afternoon.
When they arrived, they found smoke coming from the basement of the house.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire quickly.
Investigators say the cause of the fire was someone carelessly threw smoking material in a trash can.
No one was hurt in the fire, but a cat was lost.
