Danville, VA - More than 400 kids from summer camps all over Danville came together at the Community Market Tuesday.
People from the fire department and library spoke at the event. They had a bouncy castle, tours of the science center, the fun wagon and even a play. The USDA provided lunch, and it only cost $1 per child.
It was all celebrating National Park and Recreation Month.
"I think they are feeling a sense of just freedom, a sense of being able to be a kid, just to have fun…to be able to go around and run and jump and do the things that kids are supposed to do," said Bryan Price, program director for Danville Parks and Recreation.
This was the 8th annual Play Day. It was sponsored by Danville Regional Medical Center.
