Campbell Co., VA -Officials say there was a burglary during the power outage at Hamilton Jewelers on Timberlake Road.

Investigators say in the early morning hours of July 2 or late July 1, someone broke into the store though a side window. They found blood inside and believe the suspect cut him or herself in the process.

The thief broke several display cases and stole about $3,000 of jewelry. Officials say this is the second time the store has been hit this year. They believe it was a target because the power was out.

"The alarm systems were down at that point so we did not get an audible alarm when this happened," said Investigator Brandon Epperson.

If you know anything about this, contact the Campbell County Sheriff's Office at 434-592-9574.
