Forest, Va. - A Jefferson Forest High School student is preparing for a big trip. 16-year-old Ryan Bucklew will be spending a year in Brazil - starting in August. It's all part of an exchange program run by Rotary International. Bucklew will be staying with a host family, studying in a local school, and acting as an ambassador for the U.S. He says his host family is very excited to have him.
"The mom, her names, she's really excited about having a boy. She's super excited cuz she's had three daughters. One's 25 and married. One's 23 and married. And her other one's 17.She keeps going I'm going to spoil you, I've never had a son. It's going to be so exciting,"said exchange student Ryan Bucklew. Bucklew says he's most excited about getting to play soccer all the time, and experience a different culture.
