Commonwealth Games Track & Field

Roanoke - The main weekend for the 23rd Annual Subway Commonwealth Games of Virginia has wrapped up after a great weekend of competition.

William Fleming High School was the scene of some exciting track and field finals competition Sunday.  The more than dozen medal rounds included the 100m dash which, in the men's category, had an interesting twist.  The Walker brothers, from Brookneal, used the games as a way to get back on the track together... the brothers used to run track together at William Campbell High School.

Bryant Walker, former William Campbell track star, said "I just wanted to see what I had.  Kind of show my niece what's up... how you're supposed to run.  Reporter - "Who won?"  Walker - "My brother.  He got me."

Anthony Walker, who beat his brother in the 100-meter race, said "I was just thanking God I was out here being able to run.  I was in an accident seven years ago, titanium rods in my leg, things like that.  So just happy to be able to run again."
