Salem - Athletes taking part in the Subway Commonwealth Games of Virginia all but wrapped up this year's competition Sunday with more than a dozen sports making space for new champions.
That was the case in Salem where volleyballers took to the court for bragging rights. While a lot of these players have no complaints about this year's weather...Sunday's much cooler temperatures made a big difference for those giving it their best shot.
Deon Matthews, volleyball medalist hopeful, said "Oh I love to play in this. It's a lot better than yesterday. It was a lot hotter. Little spots of sunshine just killed us yesterday. It was great today... great weather."
