Roanoke, VA - Roanoke Police are investigating an early morning shooting Tuesday that left a man dead.

Police arrested Deante Orlando White and charged him with murder.

It happened in the 3500 block of Courtland Avenue, northeast around one this morning.

The White, 10, of Roanoke, is charged with murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony after he turned himself in. He is accused of killing Emmanuel Brown, 26, also of Roanoke, just outside a home on the corner of Courtland and Oakland Avenues.

Police found Brown dead in the driveway. Neighbors say the house where the shooting happened is the frequent scene of yelling and fighting and the trouble didn't surprise at least a few of those neighbors.

The shooting has left the woman who lives next door shaken as she was awake when the crime happened.

"I was just watching a movie... I heard the shot. I thought maybe one of the dogs had thrown something over downstairs or something but apparently it was a gunshot," said Monica Moses.

White is currently being held in the Roanoke City Jail and has no bond.
