Roanoke, VA - An animal shelter in Roanoke is under investigation after allegations it unnecessarily euthanizes cats.
The board of directors that oversees the Regional Center for Animal Control and Protection ordered the review.
Last week, Botetourt County officials removed cats from the center after they were told there was room at the shelter for the cats but that they would still be put down.
The board says this investigation will make sure all policies and guidelines are being met.
