Lynchburg - V.E.S. forward Caleb White made his college commitment this afternoon.
The 6-6 rising senior and one-time Buckingham County standout has verbally committed to East Carolina. White, recently named MVP of the 5-Star Camp at Hampden-Sydney, said he considered a number of schools, including Virginia Tech, Richmond, Cincinnati and Austin Peay. But Monday night he decided for sure he wanted to be a Pirate. East Carolina wants him to play a two-guard spot, White says he'll work to improve his ballhandling and strength.
Caleb White said "The fit was just perfect. I developed a great relationship with Coach Lebo, beautiful campus, great people down there. And they made it known I was their guy, and I was their number one priority. You have to go to somewhere that really wants you and I'll play my first year there."
Curtis Staples, V.E.S. HEAD COACH, said "He obviously is very talented and very athletic but he knows how to play the game a lot better now. And I think that, I think that you can probably attribute the big jump in his game to that."
