Update: Police Arrest Man in Roanoke Shooting


Update 11 a.m.:

Roanoke, VA – Police have arrested the person they say shot a man in Roanoke Tuesday night.

Anthoney Michael Johnson, 32, of Salem was arrested and has been charged with malicious wounding, possession of a firearm as a convicted felon, possession of a stolen firearm, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.

Police say Johnson shot Jason Paul Quackenbush, 30, of Roanoke. He was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Anyone with information regarding this or other crimes should call the Roanoke Police Department at 853-5959 or Crime Line at 344-8500. Crime Line may offer a monetary reward for any information leading to an arrest.


Roanoke, Va. - Roanoke Police Officers are investigating a shooting that happened Tuesday night. 

Around 7:45 p.m. officers were called to the 4900 block of Williamson Road. When they got there they saw an adult male victim who had been shot.  The victim was taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Investigators say no charges have been filed at the time. The shooting is under investigation.
