Roanoke - Of all the 55 sports in this year's Subway Commonwealth Games, the hardest hitting of all has got to be boxing.
This is the second year boxing has been a sport in the games and the event is catching on.
Last year the field of boxers was made up primarily of novice fighters. But this year, that standard took a jump as most of the competitors are entering the ring as open boxers, meaning they're over 17 with more than 10 fights under their belt.
Boxing official Mac McCadden said "This year the level of competition soared so much. We had 16 bouts yesterday; nine of them were in split decisions. That means that the competition was so even that they couldn't have been matched any better than that."
