Bedford, VA – People who live in the city of Bedford can now use a bow and arrow or a crossbow to hunt deer.
City council approved an urban archery hunt to control the city's deer population.
The ordinance limits hunting to antlerless deer on parcels of three acres or more.
Hunters also have to get a permit from police department and written permission from the landowner.
Also, weapons can't be used in any public settings or aimed towards buildings or houses.
